SLC Spring Fling a Success!

On Friday, March 28th, the Center for Community Action & Research and the Successful Learning Center hosted the first-ever Spring Fling dance on Pace’s Pleasantville campus.  Over 50 members of the Pace community danced the night away in Gottesman with faculty, staff, students, and new friends from the Successful Learning Center.  Volunteer DJs from WPAW played the latest tunes, and cosponsors BSU (Black Student Union), Gamma Sigma Sigma, Sigma Lambda Upsilon, and Sigma Gamma Rho helped get the crowd grooving to old and new favorites like Macklemore, NSYNC, and the Cha Cha Slide.  Guests were treated to cupcakes donated by Rockland Bakery (and delicious cookies baked by an SLC parent!), as well as a special performance by the Pace Dance Team.  SLC student and CCAR voter registration volunteer Lindsey created beautiful decorations for the dance to adorn the tables and bring some extra spring cheer to the event!  A fantastic time was had by all, and we are hoping to host a Fall Formal next semester.  Follow the Center for Community Action & Research (@CCARPLV) on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram to check out photos and videos from the Spring Fling and stay updated on our calendar of community service and civic engagement events!
